So since the lockdown we do a lot of apero dinatoires which
is basically when you turn the snacks you munch on during pre-dinner drinks
into a “real” meal thus avoiding having to prepare something substantial after
drinking. This happened naturally not
only due to the fact that after a long day with the kids we need drink but also
because right before said drink I do a sweep of food/snacks left by mentioned
kids littered all over the apartment during the course of the day. And this becomes the dinatoire part of the
apero.
Husband: Apero
dinatoire. Again?
Me: What? [Looking to
see if he notices our dinner looks like scraps given to a dog]
Husband: [Looking
like he notices]
Me: So… what do you want to drink?
It’s not easy cooking two meals a day, seven days a
week. My husband and I under normal circumstances
have between us five solid recipes and the rest is pasta. We live in the city and work full time. The evenings are a mad rush to put something nutritious
in our bodies knowing full well that if we want a good meal we go out.
So much for that.
