day 21

So today was a beautiful warm sunny day perfect for enjoying outdoors.  It was the kind of day that one would dub the unofficial first day of Spring where you can finally go out without a coat and bask in the warm sunshine after a long winter.  It also happened to fall on a Sunday.

We spent most of the day on our balcony as did most of our neighbors.  There were bbqs and loud music blaring.  Reminded me of a block party lockdown style.

On the news we saw images of Paris as if there was no lockdown.  People out and about grocery shopping, walking around, jogging, enjoying the beautiful day in close proximity to one another.

The infection/death numbers for France are finally starting to go down but if people start slacking on the lockdown they’ll probably go up again.  Makes me wonder if all our efforts are worth it.

Then at eight pm everyone came out on their balconies again to cheer on all the health care professionals that continue to work tireless putting themselves at risk on the front line in order to save lives.

It is worth it.
