dance 2 day 24

So it was a nice day which lately means it wasn't raining.  I needed to get out so I took a walk to Montmartre.  Before I left I remembered to pack my coffee in a thermos and empty my bladder as drinking or peeing in an establishment was not currently an option.  When I got off the metro I walked past the closed movie theaters and restaurants and made my way up to the basilique.  Along the way I refused portraits from the few remaining artiste but accepted a vin chaud from a local vendor.

At the basilique I sat with my vin chaud and admired the view of Paris in eerie tourist free tranquility whilst eavesdropping on the three French guys eating their "covid lunch" (takeaway) besides me.

The view invoked recent events and the converstation moved from the Louvre fire to covid to the vaccination to Macron to fascisim to Marie Le Pen.

I didn't linger.  The vin chaud would have it's effect on my bladder soon.

That evening my phone was full of messages about trump supporters in the capital.

What a way to start the year.
